Contribution to My Learning Community

One can always do more. I've learned to reach out more as the course progressed through our group text on GroupMe. Hindsight is always 20/20 and I wish I would have reached out to my group more at the beginning of the course. I am giving myself an 88/44 for my contribution to the learning community. One of the supporting contributions was not met. I did not take a leadership role in my collaboration group. Next class, I will take on a leadership role by scheduling times for weekly or biweekly zooms with my collaboration group at the beginning. I think having the time to talk is more valuable than just reading and revising work through text, or the discussion board. This can be a challenge because of time constraints, but I think it will be worth the time.
I provided feedback to my core collaboration group, I revised work, completed all of the course work including readings, videos, and supporting resources. In the discussion board, I made sure to read everyone's posts, however, I did not comment on as many as I would have liked to. I always appreciated when others would comment on my post. Going forward, this is something I will strive for in my next class.
Honestly, juggling two classes while teaching was a challenge for time management. Although I completed all assignments, I think the quality of my work could be improved.
Especially, the literature review. I learned a lot in the process and the next time I write one I will do better. After completing 5303 and 5305, I have a better grasp on how the courses are structured, where to find information, and how to manage my eportfolio better. This will save time in the Spring semester. I have decided to take one course at a time in the Spring. I prefer a marathon versus a sprint. I would rather dive deeper into each course than barely scratch the surface of two.
Using what I have learned from growth mindset, I am going to say I am not where I want to be yet. I see room for improvement, especially paying closer attention to the details with my writing. The most important part is that I have learned so much and I am finding my voice.
I would like to thank my collaboration group: Kim Purvis, Natyra Price, Andrea Harrell, Steven Lewis, Karin Stateler for all of their support and help along the beginning of this journey.
I also want to thank Kelven Wilson for sharing resources and who I collaborated with outside of my core group because we are both working on blended learning. All the little things added up. For example, Karin was always sharing information we might have missed and clarifying assignments. She was great at pointing us all in the right direction. Stephen introduced me to Canva. I am so glad I decided to create my video in Canva. It saved me time and a lot of stress. Our communication thread on GroupMe was what kept me going. The common ground we built and our learning community was invaluable during the beginning. We were all beginners with different skill sets. Together, we did it.
